Winter Jam 2010 was phenomenal.  Although Mr. Robbie and I missed Fireflight and Sidewalk Prophets, the rest of the show was amazing.  I extremely enjoyed Third Day (as always), Tenth Avenue North, Newsboys, and Newsong.  Not that the other bands weren’t good.  Those performances stick out in my mind.  Another cool thing is that Mr. Robbie and I got to meet the lead singer and the drummer of Revive.

The best part of the whole night was seeing the students that we took stand up to say that they accepted Jesus as their Savior that night.  Truly fantastic, and glory to God.  I wanted to cry.  If you want the devotional that Tony Nolan mentioned, I found it on his Facebook page or you can download it here.

This Sunday, we’re going to mix it up.  Normally we have our small group after the worship portion of the Life-Givers Ministries morning service.  Instead, we will be experiencing our first prayer walk.  “What for?” you ask.  Because I said we are.  No really.  We are going to be walking around the school, and praying at 6 locations.  At each location will be a list of things and people to pray for.  And it won’t be just me praying at each location, but everyone.

Now, why are we doing this?  This prayer walk gets us to focus on other people and their needs, which is the most important part of having a relationship with another person.  It allows us to “bond” with them through prayer while giving these needs to God.

So, please come out on Sunday so we can pray together.  This will be a great experience.

Meet at the Berkeley Middle School at 1:30pm.  We are leaving at 2pm, and the movie starts at 4:10pm.  This gives us time to buy the tickets, get a bite to eat, & make the movie. We can always eat after the movie, too.

Youth Sunday was a huge success.  For the seven of you who helped the various LGM ministries, thank you so very much.  Sure, it might not have seemed like much, but everyone was supremely pleased to have you all helping Life-Givers.  So, thank you to the following students who helped:

• Melissa, ran the presentation computer;
• Dylan, was a greeter to everyone who entered;
• Alexis, sang in the Praise Team;
• Gary, welcomed everyone to the service;
• Kinsey, gave the announcements and was a helper in a children’s class;
• Tad, read Scripture during the worship service; and
• Macie, who also helped in the Children’s Ministries.

Once again, thank you so much.  I’m proud of you all.

T-Shirts

The youth t-shirts have been ordered as of last week.  Fifty-two shirts were ordered, and most of the money has been collected.  Expect them to arrive in the next three to four weeks.

Christmas Party

The youth Christmas Party is THIS Saturday (Dec 12th) at 5pm at the Robbies’ House in St. Stephen.  Give Bridgett or me a call if you need directions.Here’s a quick reminder about the Life-Givers Christmas Dinner. It is this Thursday at 7pm at Somerset, which is in Pinopolis. There will be BBQ, a talent show, and Santa Claus. Please make plans to come out and enjoy yourself.

We are planning to serve a spaghetti dinner (no charge). All that is necessary for each student to bring a gift of no more than $10 to participate in the Chinese Gift Exchange (a.k.a. White Elephant Gift Exchange). Click here for more info on how this type of gift exchange works.

Note: This party is for Beyond Youth students ONLY. I wanted to make this clear, because this will be a fun night for us to hang out and do whatever. Maybe watch a movie or play some games or something.

Ever since Summer Camp 2009 in June, Bridgett and I have been wanting to get some custom designed shirts for our youth ministry, but we ended up relocating from Restoration Ministries to Life-Givers Ministries before we were able to get the process started.  Now, we have done so for our Beyond Youth Ministry, and let me say, James at ThePlowShare.com has done a fantastic job creating a custom design for us.  This has been coming, and we are extremely excited.  James provided us with a design that fits the Beyond Youth Ministry perfectly.

So, without further ado, here’s the design.

As you may be able to point out, there is a target in the middle of the design to go along with the target that is in our logo.

We are definitely selling t-shirts, but are also looking into selling long sleeve shirts and hoodies.  There are 7 colors available: white, orange, grey, yellow, light blue, pink, and dark blue.  Pricing will vary, and will be announced as soon as all of the information has been verified.  I can assure you that the prices are very low and within the range of many people’s budget.

Once we have worked out all of the necessary information, we will post the information to Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter to take orders as well as announcing it at our Sunday gatherings.  If you’re in a hurry or overly-excited, you can let us know what you’d like in the comments below.  Just tell us which how many shirts you’d like, in what colors, and sizes.
