We are going to watch the movie “To Save a Life” on Saturday, January 23rd at the Azalea Square Theater in Summerville.  Please sign up with Bridgett or let her know you’re going in case we quality for group tickets.  We’re waiting to see what the showtimes are, and we’ll pass that information along when we get it.

WinterJam 2010

I’m extremely excited about this concert.  Third Day, my favorite band, is performing, as well as, Tenth Avenue North, Newsong, Newsboys, Revive, Sidewalk Prophets, and more.  The date for the concert is Sunday, February 14th, and the cost is $10 at the door.  There are NO advance tickets.  Doors open at 5pm, preconcert starts at 5:20pm, and the concert starts at 6pm.  Prepare to leave around 9:30pm.

If you’re going, then make sure to bring money for lunch, for your ticket, and for the concessions.

Talent Quest

This is the annual talent competition held in Lake City by the SC Conference of the IPHC.  This year it is on Friday, March 26th and Saturday, March 27th.  There are many categories to perform in including singing, band, arts, creative writing, video, and skits. Make sure to sign up with Mrs. Bridgett if you want to participate.  Who knows.  You might win and go to the national competition in Orlando, FL!

LGM Christmas Dinner & Youth Christmas Party

// November 30th, 2009 // Comments Off // Events

Here’s a quick reminder about the Life-Givers Christmas Dinner. It is this Thursday at 7pm at Somerset, which is in Pinopolis. There will be BBQ, a talent show, and Santa Claus. Please make plans to come out and enjoy yourself.

Also, the Beyond Youth Ministry is hosting our first Christmas Party on Saturday, December 12th. It will start at 5pm and end somewhere between 10-11pm. Right now, we are planning to serve a spaghetti dinner (no charge). All that is necessary for each student to bring a gift of no more than $10 to participate in the Chinese Gift Exchange (a.k.a. White Elephant Gift Exchange). Click here for more info on how this type of gift exchange works.

Note: This party is for Beyond Youth students ONLY. I wanted to make this clear, because this will be a fun night for us to hang out and do whatever. Maybe watch a movie or play some games or something.

Halloween Party

// October 14th, 2009 // Comments Off // Events

Our first party as the Beyond Youth Ministry will be a Halloween Party, and I am extremely excited about it. We will be providing hot dogs and chili cheese salsa dip for the meal, as well as, a good time to fellowship together and play some games. We’ll also be riding a hayride through the woods.

Why are we doing this? Sure, it seems a bit random, but we wanted a good place and time to hang out, have some fun, and get to know everyone. We are inviting the church leadership (Pastors Jason & Audrey and Associate Pastors Doug & Candace) and all of the teenagers and their families. Note the word families. Even the younger children are welcome.

Okay, so here’s the details:

Date: Saturday, October 30th
Time: 7-9pm
Where: Marion & Cindy Cooper’s house (map below)

If you need directions, then either use the map or call me at 259-0656.
